What is the purpose of One Planet Network?<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u201d4.16\u2033 _module_preset=\u201ddefault\u201d global_colors_info=\u201d{}\u201d]<\/p>\n

The One Planet network was created to put into practice the \u201c10YFP\u201d (10-Year Framework of Programmes) and Objective 12 of the \u201c2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development\u201d.<\/p>\n

The \u201c10YFP\u201d:<\/h3>\n

Adopted in 2012 at the \u201cWorld Summit on Sustainable Development\u201d in Rio, the 10YFP is a 10-year framework of programs aimed at accelerating the shift to sustainable consumption and production in developed and developing countries.<\/p>\n

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:<\/h3>\n

Alongside the 10YFP, UN member countries unanimously adopted \u201cThe 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development\u201d in 2015. It consists of a series of 17 autonomous sustainable development goals designed to protect people and the planet.
Among this series, Goal 12 (SDG12) aims to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.<\/p>\n

One Planet Network is therefore a catalyst that aims to become, by 2022, the main mechanism for supporting and implementing the transition to sustainable consumption and production patterns.<\/strong>This contributes to the effective implementation of goal 12 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the \u201c10YFP\u201d. The One Planet Network has already secured the legitimacy and mandate from the international community to be the first multi-stakeholder implementation mechanism for SDG 12, bringing stakeholders together around a common approach and a set of shared goals.<\/p>\n

SDG 12, Why is \u201cObjective 12, Responsible consumption and production\u201d so important?<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u201d4.16\u2033 _module_preset=\u201ddefault\u201d global_colors_info=\u201d{}\u201d]<\/p>\n

There will be around 8.5 billion of us by 2030, and almost 10 billion by 2050. With our current production and consumption patterns, we would need not one but three planets to meet our raw material needs. It is therefore urgent to decouple social and economic progress from environmental degradation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each of the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is autonomous. But goal 12 is a special goal because it cuts across all the<\/strong> goals. Sustainable production and consumption should be seen as highly effective tools that will help to directly or indirectly achieve many of the 17 goals of the Agenda 2030.<\/p>\n

What does LONGTIME\u00ae do in ONE PLANET?<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u201d4.16\u2033 _module_preset=\u201ddefault\u201d global_colors_info=\u201d{}\u201d]<\/p>\n

LONGTIME\u00ae has joined the \u201cConsumer Information for SCP\u201d program, whose aim is to encourage better consumer information on products and highlight effective strategies for more responsible consumption.<\/p>\n

Demand for sustainable goods and services is high and growing, but consumers are often unable to make informed choices, or simply don\u2019t act on their intentions. The main reasons for this situation are lack of transparency, and incomplete or unreliable information.<\/p>\n

The importance of providing reliable information is recognized in target 12.8 of the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/strong> By 2030, ensure that people around the world have the information and knowledge they need for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is where our efforts come together, and where we participate through our LONGTIME\u00ae experience and management. Indeed, from the outset, the LONGTIME\u00ae label was intended to be a reliable<\/strong>, controlled tool<\/strong> for providing consumers with better information on manufactured products. But LONGTIME\u00ae has also become a pragmatic guide for professionals to improve production practices<\/strong> and extend product life.<\/p>\n

Our team is particularly dedicated to work on Product Lifetime Extension. In this group, an initial inventory of international policies and initiatives on the subject has been drawn up and will be regularly updated. The LONGTIME\u00ae label will be studied in January 2021 as a \u201cstudy case\u201d to feed into the work.<\/p>\n

We are determined to act as a link between industry and consumers, because the success of our objectives depends on the collaboration of all stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
