We can only conclude that this sector is under pressure, even though it could provide jobs that are not easily relocated and offer high environmental added value.<\/p>\n After-sales service and spare parts: <\/strong>In addition to the accessibility and proximity of after-sales service and repair facilities, the volunteers in the working groups point to the need to make original spare parts available<\/strong> for 15 years<\/strong>. Although laudable on paper, this measure is essential for extending product life, and needs to be qualified<\/strong>. In fact, it does not take into account the reality of product diversity<\/strong>. Making spare parts available for 15 years on a smartphone is ecological nonsense as you read this. Citizens\u2019 covenant and sustainability regulations<\/span><\/h2>\n
Although very difficult to apply because of its original poor design, the Convention Citoyenne re-emphasizes the need to enforce the law banning programmed obsolescence<\/strong>. Deliberate programmed obsolescence is particularly difficult to prove<\/strong>, and this law has proven to be of very little use. No practice has yet been condemned. It would probably be wiser to change this law and \u201cmake compulsory\u201d a certain number of virtuous practices rather than \u201cprohibit\u201d them.
The convention would also like to make it compulsory to repair manufactured products<\/strong> sold in France, a right to repair that LONGTIME\u00ae has been defending alongside \u201cRight To Repair\u201d for several months. The AGEC Act supports this right.<\/p>\n
Finally, the convention emphasizes theimportance of eco-design in the implementation of a sustainable production model<\/strong>. We fully share this vision.
